11/29 - The batting cage improvements project continues the week of November 27th with Field Turf installation.

The team also determined that repairs were needed for the cage cable systems to ensure that batting cages were safe and able to support the ability to pull back the cages to support a more open area.

Also, a replacement cage was ordered and installed to replace cage 3.

Some cool graphics will be installed when the weather permits.

After the success of the renovations to SYB fields 1-3 and water abatement at Forest Brook in the spring, the SYB board has approved the renovation of the SYB Batting Cages.  The renovations will include:

  • (COMPLETED)Replacement of the current lighting with modern LED lighting.
  • (COMPLETED)Painting of the walls.
  • (COMPLETED)Addition of padding around all columns for safety.
  • Additional field turf along the south wall to allow drills.
  • Improved cages to include cabling to improve overall usability of the cages.
  • Add the ability to move (pull back) the cage netting to allow a large open practice area.
  • (COMPLETED)Removal of old equipment.
  • Installation of improved Access Points for WiFi access.

Work will begin this fall, if you would like to volunteer please reach out to Rick Moore or Mike Dupan via email.
